Solstice Sea Adventures can give you a unique
experience in southern BC. We offer private "work
aboard" sailing charters customized to your budget and
preferences. Day trips, travel to Vancouver Island,
long term charter, eco-sailing and dive charters are just some of the

The Ship
The Solstice is a 53’ Gaff
rigged Top'sail Schooner with all the hospitality and amenities one
needs for short and long-term sailing. Constructed in wood and
traditional rigging with a complete galley, head
and bunks along with the required navigation and radio equipment,
she is a comfortable and sea kindly vessel.

Skipper
The Skipper and Owner of the Solstice, Allen MacKay,
built her in 1966. His previous sailing experience was in commercial
diving and fishing on the east and west coast. The Solstice became a lifelong project. Build the ship
then learn to sail her. Allen has spent the past 30 years sailing the west
coast of North America.
